Professional Experience:
I'm an experienced food and nutrition security, policy analyst, and an M&E and knowledge management expert, passionate about using research, data and technology to develop hunger solutions.
I have amassed over 18 years of experience in formulating and implementing strategies, policies and plans aligned with the national development objectives and strategies as well as wider UN strategies, policies and processes in the implementation of humanitarian and development assistance. This is in line with my comparative advantages especially strong qualitative and quantitative research and geospatial analysis techniques, in-depth knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methods, statistical applications and reporting systems; application of digital media, automation and visualization platforms.
I recently served as the Head of Evidence Generation block covering vulnerability analysis and mapping, Monitoring, Evaluation, Knowledge Management and capacity strengthening, for three years with WFP Ethiopia. During this period, I provided technical and strategic leadership in multi-dimensional problem analysis of vulnerability & resilience, early warning/action, programme design, cluster coordination and monitoring & evaluation.
Previously, I have successfully led research, analysis and M&E units for WFP in various operational context in Uganda, Rwanda, Turkey, Nepal, South Sudan, Lesotho and support to the SADC Regional Vulnerability Assessment and Analysis (RVAA) Programme of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) in strengthening national assessments and analysis systems, early warning and disaster risk management information systems, forecast based financing system for drought anticipatory actions, towards building resilient and sustainable livelihoods and emergency preparedness.
I also supported resilience programming for FAO, based in FAO Rome Headquarters, supporting the establishment of Corporate M&E framework for FAO strategic results of the Emergency and Rehabilitation division programme.
Education:
I have strong academic qualifications with masters 1) MA in agriculture (food security studies) and 2) MSC in nutrition studies.
