Thurstan is an independent consultant who recently left with IMC Worldwide’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team. Prior to joining IMC in 2016 he worked within a variety of top tier academic (University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership), non-profit (Prince of Wales Business & the Environment Programme, The Climate Group) and corporate settings (IDEAcarbon). He has extensive knowledge of MEL, climate change KPIs, energy access, climate policy, carbon trading, low carbon technologies, sustainable business and corporate social responsibility.
In his most recent role at IMC, Thurstan undertook a range of M&E roles, including: Team Leader of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) work stream for the multi-million MEL of the UK Government's International Climate Fund; M&E specialist for the Commercial Agriculture Portfolio Review; evaluator for the macro-evaluation of DFID’s Africa Regional Department and provided VFM and M&E support to Evidence and Learning Facility in South Sudan
