Professional Experience:
My professional experience cuts across various fields - Administration, Operations and Logistics, Geography and Geo-spatial Technologies and Non-profits. I have four years experience working with various non-profits in Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda. I served as Program Coordinator for Youth Resource Development center where I designed programmes to address the problems faced by youths in society ranging from drug-abuse, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, drunk driving, Adolescent Reproductive Health. My experiences also took me to East Africa to serve youths orphaned by genocide. I used sports as a tool of healing and a form of expression. I tried to teach the youths, using examples of African Sports stars that fame fortune and life values such as discipline, teamwork, hard work, support, self confidence was possible through participating in sports.
I was also responsible for large budgets used in the purchase of equipment, food stuff and materials for more than 500 occupants of the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village Rwanda.
I currently work as a Graduate Assistant for SIUE Veterans Upward Bound. The program helps veterans who want to go back to school to obtain Associates or Bachelors degrees. Veterans who do not wish to go back to school but want to learn a vocation are also accommodated in our program and furnished with resources to help them achieve their goals. My activities include recruitment of veterans in to the program, assisting them with setting career goals and choosing a career, preparing an Individual Education Plan and the financial aid process.
