Professional Experience:
Sole research assistant to three equity fund managers at a Rs 13,667 crore (~$2.1billion) AUM equity mutual fund
• Cross sector coverage of the over 150 large cap equities within the portfolio providing company specific analysis and outlooks
to evaluate industry structure, key evaluation criteria and company position.
• Monitoring existing investments within the portfolio by analysing annual reports and quarterly results as well as meeting senior
management, sector experts and other stakeholders to provide regular outlook updates.
• Tracking relevant macro data – including Nielsen and other key vendors – to better understand the macroeconomic environment
and analysing the potential impact of different trends and the current climate on various sectors and companies.
• Regularly attending analyst conference-calls, industry seminars and conferences, reporting key takeaways to fund managers. Independently attended, as the sole company representative, more than 10 investor meets and panel discussions including one-
on-one meetings with senior company management (CEO, CFO, IR head) to assess future strategy and growth prospects.
• Leveraging sell side analyst research capabilities to maintain and build company financial models to provide a pricing target
range for potential and current investments.
• Independently preparing monthly equity fund performance reports, comparing against the relevant benchmarks, and providing
analysis on outperformance / underperformance of stocks versus the index to analyse potential investment opportunities to present
to the fund managers.
• Rotation Programme: - Three-month rotation with sell-side institutional equity research in Pharmaceuticals and Health Care
sector covering 12 companies. Independently updated company financial models during quarterly results and provided detailed
reports on the same.
