Professional Experience:
I built the policy and advocacy advisory arm of a regional chamber of commerce, establishing the first private sector forums directly with the ASEAN Secretariat, the body responsible for implementing South East Asian economic integration. I secured funding that ensured the financial sustainability of the organisation through delivering independent policy advice and bridging the gap between government and the private sector. I have worked closely with governments on financial innovation and trained Ministry officials in Cameroon in utilising a digital platform to boost revenues through real-time information sharing. Furthermore, I have expertise in budget frameworks and provided advice on strategic interventions to improve resource allocation. I have also supported Australian Treasury Department’s macroeconomic analysis of South East Asia’s major economies and coached Indonesian Finance Ministry officials in understanding what changes were required to achieve an investment-grade credit rating. I also provided UNICEF’s Office of Innovation with a roadmap as to how their U-Report tool can capitalise on mobile phone growth to better understand the progress of young people towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Prior to this, I worked in economic development with two Australian municipalities for five years, building coalitions of business leaders to strengthen these cities’ economies and better integrate them into regional and global supply chains. This included developing innovative solutions to problems such as building a vibrant digital economy with a skilled labour pool while ensuring that more than $70 million of new investment and more than 500 jobs were facilitated annually. Wanting to further maximise my impact, I pivoted my career into the development sector. To facilitate this, I undertook a scholarship to complete a Master of Public Policy across both the National University of Singapore and Georgetown University, where I acquired field experience in development projects while further growing my excellent analytical skills in developing pragmatic and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
