I am at a point in my career where I want to leverage towards lifechanging initiatives. Today my goal is to get involved with organizations that are making a change. Deal with topics that inspire people, help fight indifference, foster empathy, and give voice to those who need to be heard. I am eager to share empowering real-life stories using platforms not exclusively linked to traditional mass-media.
I am a journalist and professional editor with outstanding writing, editing and content curation skills. For fifteen years I managed communication projects in Peru primarily in Spanish, and added value to the main local media, universities, communication agencies, private firms and the public sector.
I hold a master´s degree in corporate & marketing communication from IE (Spain, full-time in English), a master´s degree in book editing from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Peru).
Although I worked in development a long time ago, there is where I want my career to set out. I led the Regional Office of the Press and Society Institute (IPYS) in Peru, where I monitored the work of eight Latin American correspondents regarding freedom of expression in the region. I also coordinated the first research on media concentration in Latin America. Before that, I worked in another NGO called Journalists Against Corruption, where I monitored Latin American media on freedom of expression and corruption cases. I also helped journalists throughout the continent with data for their investigations on corruption.
I am seeking new opportunities in Europe linked to international organizations (I hold an EU citizenship). My background and professional experience as journalist and communication expert will allow me to successfully convey the right messages to the targeted audiences.
