Professional Experience:

I have two years’ experience working as a Customer Experience Assistant for the British Council, Greece. In this position I developed my interpersonal and communication skills as I had to create a meaningful and accessible environment between students, parents and my co-workers. I was responsible for the coordinated operation of the British Council Teaching Centre and was able to develop my skills in timely and effective problem-solving, team work and event management. My current role as Ticketing and Reservations agent at an airline company has strengthened my skills in delivering results, prioritising and working in a fast-paced environment. Also, in this position I have learnt how important it is to assume responsibility for my own actions and contribute to the achievement of common goals within a team.

Education:

My studies have offered me an insight into the operation of international development organisations and how developmental projects are being approached in different parts of the world. I have gained experience in writing and editing essays on multiple issues related to international development such as education, energy and the environment, fragile and post-conflict states, child labour etc. What is more, I have conducted social research in rural development issues through my work-based placement in Kanungu, Uganda for the completion of my dissertation. My focus was on the impact of LRTT (Limited Resource Teacher Training) – an education NGO- on local teachers and the community. During my fieldwork I was able to work productively both on my own and in cooperation with other researchers on site, the LRTT staff and the local community in a multicultural environment. Conducting research allowed me to develop my skills as an observer and my ability to focus on details in order to interpret my findings
