Professional Experience:
Over the years I have been able to acquire and learn a variety of business skills. As an undergraduate student at San Francisco State University I was able to establish a good foundation and education in the field of business. My experience as a sales representative and specialist at Stoller’s Distribution, Dr. Pepper/Snapple group and Golden Sweet Inc. has given me the ability to understand how business to business relationships are established and maintained. My retail background, which includes managing small retail markets in San Francisco and acting as a consultant for new retail business owners, gives me an array of business expertise. I have also used extensive computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Word, in the mentioned positions to analyze customer purchases, keep track of expenses, and forecast future spending. The knowledge I have gained over the years gives me the ability to use and analyze data while maintaining and achieving organizational goals and objectives.
In addition to my business experience I have enhanced my quantitative and data skills through my educational completion of a Masters Degree in Economics at the University of San Francisco. My graduate educational experience has given me the opportunity to understand and use programs such as Stata and SAS programs. I use able to conduct research projects which relied on large amounts of data to determine whether certain policies where effective. Certain projects include determining whether foreign aid affects economic growth in the Middle East. I have also collected data in small villages in the West Bank to help determine the immediate needs of the children in Iraq Boreen. I understand the importance of how data can help determine policy decisions or whether certain policies have any effect. I have been able to understand the methods of econometrics and the complexities of different regressions to determine accurate data results.
Recently I have been a field coordinator for a group of USF graduate students working on a microfinance project in Jordan. During this project we have conducted focus groups to female entrepreneurs in Jordan. We also conducted surveys in the different governorates in Jordan, including Mafraq. Through this project I have been able to see the benefits that Microfinance has on women in Jordan and allowing them to become successful entrepreneurs. I have made sure that enumerators accurately conduct the surveys as it is vital to get results that are accurate as possible. In addition to managing the enumerators and researchers, I analyzed surveys to make sure the questions being asked were relevant to the data needed and that the questions were culturally sensitive to the participants being asked.
Also as part of my international experience I have worked as an advocate for education improvements in Jordan. In the fall of 2013 I was an Innovation team member for ThinkUnlimited, an educational non-profit operating in Amman Jordan. As a te
Education:
My educational history begins with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management from San Francisco State University in the USA. After completing my Bachelors degree I successfully completed a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco. My pursuit of a graduate degree included taking intensive and challenging courses in Monetary Economics, International Finance, Econometrics, and Research methods.
I have excelled in the courses I completed. I understand the use of economic models, mathematical and theoretical, that explain how the global economy works and the solutions to economic problems around the world.
In addition to my understanding of economics from both a Macro and Micro level I have been able to conduct unbiased research in a wide variety of issues. One major research contribution I completed during my educational experience was the causal effect of development aid and economic growth in the West Bank and other Palestinian territories. Other areas of research include the causes of the Financial Global crisis and potential prevention methods for the future.
