Professional Experience: |
Senior technical expert in rule of law and democratization and civil society capacity building, with significant experience in democratic governance and accountability, election observation, management and assistance, as well as gender equality, including the promotion of women’s participation in government. Experience leading teams of up to 85 expatriate and local professionals, and overseeing programmes amounting to EUR 4 million. Strong RBM based project management, design, budgetary, recruiting and negotiation skills, including the ability to establish collaborative relationships with beneficiaries, implementing partners and government counterparts. Strong organisational management, team-building and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience in project proposal writing and fundraising with various international donors (European Union, USAID, SIDA, AusAid). Demonstrated expertise in human rights, including refugee and IDP protection, international human rights law, and migrant integration. Extensive experience conducting interviews with IDPs/refugees and authoring of protection assessments, serving as team leader of refugee/IDP status determination & registration missions, conducting assessments on migrant integration with focus on migrant women, and building the capacity of government institutions and the civil society through trainings and workshops. Demonstrated experience in conducting evaluations of democratisation and rule of law projects and programmes based on OECD/DAC and Degeval criteria, including conceputalisation of evaluation methodologies and data collection; experience in organising and conducting field assessments, field based evaluations and fact-finding missions including conducting multi-stakeholder interviews based on age, gender, diversity mainstreaming (AGDM) methodologies. ? Project manager of the first edition of International IDEA’s flagship Global State of Democracy publication (https://www.idea.int/gsod/) as well as the construction of the Global State of Democracy Indices (https://www.idea.int/gsod-indices/#/indices/world-map) with the aim of advancing global democracy and contributing to the debate on democracy. The publication was launched in 14 global and regional locations in November 2017. The project had a value of 2,5 million EUR. Lead author of Chapter 7 of the first edition entitled “Migration, Social polarisation, Citizenship and Multiculturalism”. ? Led the development and coordinated the implementation of ODIHR’s 2011-2013 assistance programmes, with a total value of 1.2 million EUR, on cooperation with the OSCE Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Israel, Jordan and Egypt) and focused on providing legislative assistance, increasing women’s political participation and strengthening parliaments and capacity building of civil society. ?
