Professional Experience:
I possess experience in international capacity development of volunteer communities: for BA I examined Slovenian schools and libraries in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Slovenian community in Ontario, Canada (thirty institutions) for doctoral dissertation. As a consultant in the field of politics, religion, culture, media, economy, and education I was building solutions for improvements, based on participatory design. In Slovenian Saturday’s school Toronto I implemented an all week “Classroom in the cloud” mentorship programme for K-12 students. I also developed an intercultural model lesson plan for addressing national identity of origin country through Language and Literature for migration volunteer schools. Also in Toronto, I was Editor-in-Chief of bilingual Glasilo Magazine, where I managed to put together a volunteer team of forty, and high quality bilingual content in less than a year. The same at Arsana international music festival in Slovenia as Head Office Manager & Public Relations, where I had to build a volunteer team of local youth from scratch to 25 and lead them successfully through festival implementation.
Before moving to Canada, I was a teacher for Extracurricular Activities at Cresnjevec Elementary School in Language and Literature, for example School paper Cesnjice, Lessons for Poets, Writers and Bloggers, Active Citizens, Youth Volunteers, Pen Pall Letter Project with Slovenian students from Argentina and Canada, Days of Slovenian Language (intercultural student help for foreign nationality students), English camp, Charitable collections of books, clothes and toys, Intergenerational Cooperation Students with Grandparents on computer usage, etc.
I also managed a non-government E-Cafe for two years, leading a wonderful innovative team of university students in building a part of a vibrant subcultural scene of Koper, and learned key family’s business skills since childhood as strong tradition with incredible work ethics.
