Professional Experience:

Training Facilitation – Trained over 1000 Volunteers from the RC / RC movement in disaster preparedness skills leading towards “Community Resilience”. Trained over 200 National staff, over 100 Government and NGO’s officials in India, Sri Lanka and in Sudan.
Proposal Designing – Have prepared 12 successful proposals (USAID, EU, ECHO, AA, BMZ, DFID, GIZ, and SIDA) and organized funding resources.
Project Planning and Implementation – Implemented 8 long term Projects – commenced, planned, implemented and closed the projects smoothly including preparation of inception reports, revised log frame and revised budget.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning – Monitored the project activities (Pre, during and post) and documented it on step by step basis and have been part of the Evaluation.
Livelihood Planning – Designed innovative livelihood activities to suit the local culture and environment using local materials, local talents through Gramin modalities, worked with women group and initiated economic empowerment through group income generation leading to poverty reduction.
Networking and Advocacy – integrated, common goal organizations together in the region through “IAG – Inter Agency Group”. Through this group, As IAG Orissa Coordinator, I was able to “map resources” and bring organizations capacity to make better use of the available resources.
Coordination – Coordinated several project activities with colleagues and ensured smooth implementation with sharing responsibilities. Coordinated with Government and other NGO’s during Orissa floods in 2007.

Representation – I have represented German Red Cross in various DM, DRR forum at National and Regional level. Represented Government of India in international gathering in Paris Climate Change Adaptation forum as MEMBER, Expert Appraisal Committee.
Networking – have developed close linkage with a South and South East Asia - National Societies of the region, Related climate forecast institutions, lead officials of ADPC and research institutions. Have good working relations with SAARC officials from the DM and CC departments.
Technology based Strategic Planning – I have developed a few innovative implementation strategies in Early Warning Communication, Safety net models, which is more suitable to developing countries with forecast based financing towards sustainable models.

I have supported the implementation of Earthquake Preparedness Program (supported by ECHO) in Bangladesh, Flood Preparedness Program in India – Bihar and Assam (supported by Google.org), Cyclone Preparedness Program in Orissa (supported by KfW), Drought preparedness Program in Sudan (supported by EU), Tsunami Preparedness Program in Sri Lanka (supported by ECHO). Worked with GRC for about 15 years (2005 – 2019) and have led and implemented several communities based DRR programs. During these years, I have managed drought response operations at any stage of the project cycle according to approved plans and budgets, supported teams, and assess and assure an efficient and effective management of staff and resources. I have proven experience in designing, delivering, and facilitating surge trainings also in the field of relief, with cash assistance, disaster risk reduction, community-based resilience, livelihoods, Health and Volunteer Management. In addition, worked with IFRC for 2 years as Operations Manager, South Asia (2020 – 2022), I have worked in multi-country operations and supported them in project preparations for BMZ, KfW, ECHO, EU, Google and AA.
