Professional Experience:
I decided to partake in an internship abroad. I was selected by Seva Mandir, an NGO in Rajasthan, India. The NGO organises informal rural institutions. These institutions are composed by the residents of the village and are partnered with a bank account that will be used to implement common development projects. My task was to understand the role of the locally elected representatives in mobilising resources for these programmes. The internship consisted in collecting primary data from more than one hundred interviews and delivering an analysis that would serve as policy advise. The outcome of the project consisted in a small composite index to measure the participation of the local community. This experience made acquainted with new research techniques but also, it made me aware of the practical challenges in collecting primary data.

Apart from this meaningful experience, i participated in a consultancy group with other students. This project is related to Transparency International, an international NGO against corruption. The goal of the team of fifteen people is to create a rigorous method for governments and civil society to identify and incorporate victims of corruption into asset recovery processes. As a subgroup leader I am in charge of the outcome of five people in the group. This experience is increasing my research method tool-kit and also allowing me to develop important organisational skills. I believe that in public management cooperation is an important quality. Being able to bring this asset from an early stage will definitely be an advantage.
Education:
The program focuses on the junction in between Politics economics and History. With this multidisciplinary approach we can look at issues from an all rounded perspective. In my program I attended courses of International Relations and International Economics. Another aspect that gives this course a winning point is the understanding in between international dynamics but local aspects and features. For this reason, we specialise in an area of the world in which we are trained in. We analyse the Politics, Economics and History of as specific region. I am an expert in South and South East Asia with a specific focus on India. For this reason, this bachelor unites the understanding of international and financial markets with the operation of international organisations such as the UN, The WTO and even the European Union. Moreover, we have a local focus in which we understand how to approach local issues with a local perspective.

In my carrier at the University of Leiden specialised in developmental issues through an elective called: The development of global capitalism’’ and extended my political views taking an extra subject called :’’Organisational theory culture and behaviour’’. The first, focuses on the development of the factors of production in different areas of the world and how these play a role in the local economies of today. The ladder, more tailored for the business field, deals with the organisational structure of an organisation and the best tactics to achieve and to solve managerial problems. This will be a plus point when dealing with organisational aspects of an NGO or an international organisation. In the end, this bachelor is perfect for the development field as it unites the wider international perspectives with a local approach on an all rounded perspective looking at International Relations, Economics and History.
