Professional Experience: |
Has over 18 years experience in the management of WASH and infrastructure development projects and programmes from formulation including planning and budgeting through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Has worked as a Project Manager for the European Union Delegation for a period of 12 years and was responsible for entire project management cycles from project design (feasibility) through implementation to evaluation and administrative closure, involving a range of development projects: Roads, Public buildings, WASH programmes, education infrastructure and integrated community development programmes. Responsible for initiating feasibility studies in the formulation of infrastructure projects and programmes in accordance with the country strategy paper and relevant financing agreements signed between the EU and the Government of Malawi. Responsible for drafting tender documents for works and supervision contracts and drafting terms of reference for technical audits and project reviews; supervision and administration of works and service contracts including validation of payments, claims and contract dispute resolution following relevant European Development Fund (EDF) contract procedures as well as Technical and financial reporting.
Has worked on two major European Union-funded community development projects as a Water and Sanitation Engineer and was responsible for the design and implementation of WASH projects and programmes.
Has recently worked on a Dam construction project as a member of the Technical Assistance team to Malawi’s Department of Irrigation and was responsible for monitoring the construction of the Bwanje Valley Dam - a zoned earth-fill dam with a reservoir capacity of 5.6million m3.
