Professional Experience:
I have 40 years+ experience as a project manager, educator and capacity builder with a focus on infrastructure and oil and gas. To date my career has been UK, Middle East and Africa based with recent projects in sub-Saharan Africa in capacity building for oil and gas from the perspective of international oil and gas companies and from global development donors.
I can bring my knowledge of vocational training; SME diagnostics; stakeholder management and capacity building using management of change techniques to bear on any project.
I have held senior management positions since my early 30's and am very comfortable in leadership positions building and leading teams of professionals for various projects. To this I can add significant experience of coaching and mentoring team members and also other senior managers to achieve their goals.
Working in Africa for the last 6 years for IOCs and the WBG has given me a unique chance to develop stakeholder management skills with local communities in remote areas, regional and national governments, NGOs and Civil Society for the purpose of raising awareness, developing mutual understanding, negotiating win-wins and in providing formal advice to governments developing economic policy, capacity building and local content legislation.
My construction engineering, project management, vocational training, oil and gas, training, capacity building and SME development experience in the UK, Middle East and Africa means I can offer a very widespread portfolio of skills and experience.
