Lushantha has a MBA (Master of Business Administration), a qualified Project Management professional as a registered PRINCE 2 practitioner (passed the PRINCE 2 Practitioner exam) with project management and design experience, a procurement professional as an Associate member of CIPS-UK with many years of procurement and supply chain experience in UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) & private sector and part qualification in CIMA- UK (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) with management accounting experience and budget and financial management experience in UNDP.
He has over 14 years of career experience, out of which over 7 years are in operations management in UNDP in multi-cultural environments. Lushantha has work experience as Cost Accountant, Human Resources Manager, General Manager, Business Process Improvement Manager, Administration Manager in UNDP and Operations Manager in UNDP for more than 5 years as an expatriate.
Excellent knowledge and hands on experience in procurement are the key strengths and knowledge and working experience in the areas of project management, Accounting & Finance, General Management, Human Resources Management and Business Process re-engineering makes Lushantha a valuable asset to any organization. The ability to deliver results under pressure, results orientation, strong analytical skills, ability to conceptualize and provide practical solutions to problems are some of the skills which have helped him to be successful in work. Lushantha has an excellent track record in setting up new units in organizations and introduce systems and procedures in the new units by way of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and removing non value adding process steps, while training staff in the use of new systems and procedures.
Currently manages a large operations team of over 30 staff in UNDP-CHTDF programme in Bangladesh. The main areas of work involves managing all the procurement processes, providing advice on operations (procurement, HR, finance, general administration and security) to the senior management team, being a member of the senior management team and providing necessary advice on budget and donor financial reporting.
Lushantha is a citizen of Sri Lanka and a permanent resident of Australia.
