Professional Experience: |
Thus far, my profession has been in the Information Technology industry but there has been broad exposure to all other industries (public and private) due to the nature of being a consultant. My role involves business process improvement, risk management, strategy management and project planning. Being a consultant, I also have to have excellent presentation skills, be a good communicator and excellent inter-personal skill. As I work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment, I have a lot of experience working in cross-cultural teams.
In the agricultural industry, my exposure has been minimal. However, I was given an opportunity to present at a workshop on Integrated Pest Management in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, under the guidance of Dr. Nicola Wunderlich. My presentation (in collaboration with another student) was on the ecological approach which can be taken to reduce the use of pesticides. These approaches included crop rotation, building soil health and creating biodiversity on a farm. A list of actions were a result of the workshop with participation from the Cambodian attendees.
In addition, I also worked as a scribe for a training session for paravets training for Pacific Islands through Knowledge Brokering Group.

Education: |
I recently graduated with a Bachelor in Ecological Agricultural Systems (with Distinction) from Charles Sturt University (CSU). I also have an earlier Bachelor degree in Mathematics and Applied Science from Swinburne University.
I have been awarded the Dean's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement by Charles Sturt University on a number of occasions.
During my studies at CSU, I had the opportunity to go on study tours, both locally and overseas (one to Fuzhou in China and another to Phnom Penh in Cambodia). These tours gave me a local and international perspective in the world of agriculture and also the implications of global trade on the livelihoods of the local population.
In 2019, I also had an opportunity to go to Slovenia at the invitation of Zurich University to attend summer school at Ljubljana University. This was a part scholarship which was also attended by students from 8 other countries. The summer school's theme was "Geography of Food - Life on Land" which is one of the UN SDG's goals.
