Professional Experience: |
I currently work as a Portfolio Manager for a Joint UN Market Systems Development Programme targeting young people and women in the agricultural sector. My role involves facilitating the generation of decent jobs for the youths and women in the rural areas of Zambia through partnerships with private sector companies especially those with businesses in the rural areas. One of my key strengths is networking and collaboration and I am the focal point on youth related issues in the United Nations Zambia and serve as the link between Government and UN Zambia on youth related matters. This includes making submissions and presentations to parliamentary committees on youth employment related topics and issues. Am also the Technical lead/Convener for UN Results Group that aims at increasing participation of vulnerable groups in development related processes. I have also been in charge of policy related work in agricultural value chains. One of my key achievements is facilitating the formation of a soybeans private sector lead action group (Soya Policy Action Group-SoPAG) composed of private sector associations to lobby and push evidence based policy issues affecting soybeans value chain.
Worked for World Food Programme as Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer of the Agricultural Market Development programme (Purchase for Progress - P4P) that aimed at building capacity of smallholder farmers to be suppliers of food crops to commercial buyers through formal procurement modalities. My role involved designing appropriate M&E systems, which included designing data collection tools, coordinating data collection exercises, data analysis and reporting as well as coordinating learning events with various stakeholders. I represented WFP as M&E expert on the BMGF Southern and Eastern Africa Community of practice for Agricultural Development. I also spearheaded the development of Agribusiness Resource Centres in rural areas that provided farmers with both production and marketing infrastructure and information.
Worked as Programme Manager for World Vision Zambia. I ensured the team performed to meet the programme objectives as well as donor requirements. Successfully led in the designing of a new programme.
