Professional Experience:
I have worked in the United States for a number of years, however I am able to work in any setting including the East African region where I grew up and trained. I have years of experience working with various populations and have worked as a youth life skills educator, provided research services as a graduate student, carried out office administration and recently served in the area of programs management and coordination for 5 years. I worked in an organization located in inner city Minneapolis and run both as a non-profit and a government funded agency. I thus am comfortable with diversity, cross cultural communication, all manner of programs development, design, tracking and implementation, engaging internal and external stakeholders and much more. I like working for the enhancement of people's socioeconomic status, I am passionate about working with communities to move them beyond subsistence existence into more sustained livelihoods and greater self efficacy. I am cooperative, deeply introspective and always seeking to see the big picture without overlooking the details that make up the process. I enjoy travel and like to produce and contribute my talents towards the enhancement of an organization's mission. I am participatory in team settings and work well with others and independently because of my varied work experiences that shaped me to respect others' contributions while focusing on my responsibilities and the outlined objectives. In all my work I seek opportunities to serve and to develop personally and in overall learning.
Education:
I have years of experience working in social services setting utilizing skills learned in my graduate training in Health and Human Services Administration, Graduate Work in Family Studies using Human Ecological theories and my undergraduate work in psychology. My training is thus broad in that I can provide direct services, I can conceptualize programs and deliver on these and I can also manage staff, operations and projects.
