Professional Experience: |
Julian Silverman has 12 years of experience in capacity strengthening training in the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked as a policy advisor, designed and managed complex training and curriculum development projects, produced national radio documentaries and published in academic journals. He has also been involved with community based training predominantly in the Australian Aboriginal community since 1997. Employed by RMIT University as a coordinator of Aboriginal community development training he has worked as team leader on major national community service competency-based curriculum development projects as well as shorter-term capacity strengthening assignments in Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Tonga and Swaziland. Working with Australian Volunteers International he implements the planning, conduct and evaluation of project development and management training. Currently, Mr. Silverman is developing postgraduate vocational training programs for experienced community services practitioners and has successfully engaged large number of Indigenous and other community organizations in innovative tailor-made competency based training to support their workforce development. He has won several University, industry, state and national training awards for his research and innovative curriculum development and implementation skills.
