Professional Experience:
I am currently the Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic. By background, I am an Israeli-born, UK & US trained lawyer, and have been working for the Israeli diplomatic service for 22 years in a wide range of positions - both in headquarters and overseas.

In the course of my diplomatic career, I've acquired experience in humanitarian, aid and development work (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Georgia & Armenia), cultural & academic relations (China & Mongolia), and political, security, bilateral diplomacy (London, NYC, Georgia, Armenia, Cameroon) and multilateral issues (covering EU-Israeli relations, as well as my previous position as Direction of UN Affairs Dept.).

Three of my 4 tours of duty have been to 'hardship postings' (Yaounde, Tbilisi & Beijing - as considered at that time).
My first 5 years as a diplomat were spent specializing in post-Soviet politics (2 years in HQ and 3 in Tbilisi & Yerevan). The following 3 years involved extensive travel around China and Mongolia, promoting academic and cultural cooperation. Subsequently, during my 5-year term in London I specialized in bilateral diplomacy, issues pertaining to disarmament and non-proliferation, EU politics and P5 dynamics.
My last HQ position involved responsibility for formulating policy on all matters pertaining to Israel's interests vis-a-vis the UN Security Council and General Assembly, including complex daily contact with 3 peacekeeping operations (UNTSO, UNIFIL, UNDOF), promoting Israeli contribution, participation, financing and export to other UN peacekeeping forces (e.g. MINUSCA in CAR), monitoring periodic UN Security Council reports (e.g.on resolutions 1701, 1559) and coordinating Israel's highly sensitive relations with UNRWA. I've also instructed the Israeli mission to the UN on matters pertaining to 1st, 4th & 5th Committees, and hosted on numerous occasions senior UN officials (including Sec-Gen Ban Ki-Moon and past and present UN Sec-Gen envoys to Lebanon, past and present envoys to Middle-East etc.).

I've initiated and been personally involved in organizing Israeli export seminars at various UN hubs (e.g. NYC, Copenhagen). I’ve worked very closely with 10 Israeli embassies around Africa on development-related issues, and was spearheading the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s efforts to enhance cooperation with UN peace-building and peace-keeping operations in Africa.

Since June 2016 I've been posted to Yaounde, as Ambassador to Cameroon, the Central African Republic and Equatorial Guinea. In my current capacity I'm focusing on development, humanitarian and aid work, whilst cooperating on numerous projects with all the various UN agencies active in west & central Africa (incl. UNESCO, UNHCR, UNWOMEN, UNDP, OCHA, UNICEF, WHO, FAO, IFAD etc.). I'm also responsible for cooperation with MINUSCA and for promoting bilateral political, security, cultural, academic and trade relations.
