Professional Experience: |
My prior experiences include working with CARE India for their Early Childhood Education program and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya program in collaboration with the government. I have also worked with Bodh Shiksha Samiti in Rajasthan in the area of education; involved in curriculum development, teaching and reduction of drop-out rates.
At present, I am working with International Humanity Foundation in Indonesia as Director for the Medan education centre where I am responsible for setting the educational deliverables for children in the age group of 6 - 18 and their teachers at the centre. I am also responsible for the overall administration of the centre.
I have a total work experience of over 7 years which includes development work at CARE, child rights related internship at UNICEF India and youth vocational training related experience at WAVE, Nigeria.
Having lived and worked in many cities of India, Nigeria and Indonesia, I consider myself to be multi-cultural and able to adapt to different environments & situations.

I completed my Masters in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai in 2008 with a specialisation in Community Organisation $ Development Practise and Management of Non Profit Organisations. As part of the curriculum I did my fieldwork at Vidya, Mumbai in the 1st year and Each One Teach One in the 2nd year of the course. Apart from this, a rural stay was in a village in Rajasthan and interaction with the organisation; Tarun Bharat Sangh. Internship was at UNICEF, Bihar.
To further my skills in education, I have pursued a course on Education Policy analysis & research in comparative education from Harvard University, Extension School.
I completed my Bachelors in Economics, Psychology & Sociology from Jyoti Niwas College (JNC), Bangalore in 2005. I also studied Economics at a masters level for 1 year at Christ College, Bangalore in 2007. I did my schooling from Notre Dame Academy, Patna and completed my 12th in 2002.
