I am an accounting and management professional, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CPA) and also as a Cost Accountant (CMA).
OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND EXPOSURE
I have worked in public sector, private sector and for the last 15 years in the development sector.
Since 2004, I have been associated with the Global Fund programme initially as an implementer, and since 2010, as a Consultant and technical advisor.
MAJOR ORGANISATIONS WORKED FOR
I have been associated with various international/bilateral agencies including the Global Fund, UNOPS, UNDP, UNAIDS, Technical Support Facility South East Asia & Pacific, Technical Support Facility, Asia, Grant Management Solutions, USA, Government of Bhutan, PricewaterhouseCoopers and many other funding agencies for India.

Countries / Governments for whom I have been assigned includes, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, Sudan, Afghanistan, in addition to Government of India (funded by UNAIDS) and many organisations in Indian sub-continent.
AREAS OF SPECIALISATION
In 2004, I was a consultant to Population Foundation of India, which was selected as the first private Sector PR for the GF operations in India.
As an implementer for the Global Fund Programme between 2005 and 2010, I had a wide ranging experience in organising meetings/ workshops, training and capacity building, budget monitoring, evaluation and reporting, maintaining excellent relationships with the Global Fund and NACO. Instrumental in steering the government to notify Global Fund as an exempted institution from the operations of Foreign Contributions Regulation Act accounting. This action enabled smaller NGOs to work free of cumbersome processes. Over 300 NGOs and about 10 partners were managed spreading across 14 states of India, besides coordinating with multiple stake holders.
As a Finance/Technical advisor, I was engaged in training and capacity building of various Programme and finance staff of the organisations and dealt with all aspects including Accounts Management, Funds Flow Management, evaluation and variance analysis, timely reporting, partner management, Dash Board, Grant Risk Assessment & Management tools.
I have also been involved in preparation and revision of manuals not only for accounts and funds flow but also for Procurement, HR and Operations.
I was associated in the development of country proposal for HIV/AIDS in India, costing of National Strategic Plan for India and Bhutan, consolidation of grants for Nepal and preparation of budget proposal for Bhutan.
For the Indian NGOs, I have been a Statutory Auditor, evaluator of programmes vis-a-vis fund utilisation, tax consultant besides being an advisor for technical issues.
I have been known to have excellent written and oral communication skills.
