A) As Environmental and Business Consultant.
Specialising in water and sanitation issues related to:
a) Multi-stakeholder approach, public-private partnerships, business development, natural resource management, upscaling projects to bankability, project management, assessment of projects and business plans, impact investment.
b) Extensive network and excellent contacts within the business community, governments & semi-governments, donors, NGOs and diverse players in the global water sector.

Assignments by the following organisations:
- Support of the IFC-hosted Water Resources Group, via a consultancy contract. Senior Country Partnership Officer, with special attention to stakeholder engagement and public-private collaborations, aiming for sustainable water economies in current and new WRG countries.

- World Economic Forum. Support of the Forum’s Water Initiative with regard to:
a) supporting the Water Resources Group regarding public-private Partnerships in WRG countries,
b) organizing meetings and country events and
c) development of an internal strategy within the Forum’s Environment Initiative.

- Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, seconded to World Economic Forum – Water Initiative. Support of the Water Resources Group on advisory of governments for sustainable water management.

- CEWAS (International Centre for Water Management Services; www.cewas.org): Consultancy role regarding a roadmap for developing a finance strategy for business incubators focused on developing water technologies & businesses in transitional economic markets.

- UNDP: Opportunity study to set-up a UNDP Water Finance Facility. Provision of a strategy note, including advisory function regarding development of stakeholder consultations, desk research and input based on own expertise and experiences.

Support of the following initiatives:
a) Financial Inclusion for Sanitation and Health www.finishsociety.com
Designed program for upscaling rural sanitation projects in partnership with microfinance, micro-insurance, public and private funders, NGOs, academia and local stakeholders
b) Incubation Africa Finance Facility. Feasibility study for the set-up of a financing facility in Africa for water and sanitation, aiming for cost-efficient modalities to encourage local (micro) finance institutions to fund small-scale water and sanitation (watsan) facilities.

- AidEnvironment (www.aidenvironment.org). Feasibility study on strategic and commercial aspects to set up new water initiative within AidEnvironment consultancy.

Master thesis on sustainable management of a teak wood plantation in Costa Rica, as part of operational and management plan for the investor, the Dutch Insurance company OHRA.

Specialised on Hydro- and Engineering Geology. Hired as student assistant
for interdisciplinary research project on waste disposal.
