I am a multi-award winning international affairs journalist and an experienced producer and director of long-form international news & current affairs programmes – interview, discussion & documentary. I am a skilled self-shooting producer / director film maker. I am experienced at working alone, with a reporter and as part of a larger team. I am hostile environments trained and experienced at working in such environments. I am well practiced at working around the world and at operating undercover. I am skilled at producing / directing location and simultaneous translation interviews and at producing location discussion programmes. Whether single handily or leading a team, I am skilled and experienced at taking projects from idea through to broadcast.
In addition, I am an experienced commissioner and series producer of documentary and interview programme strands. I have an excellent track record of generating strong story ideas and translating them into dynamic treatments. Making programmes myself has hugely helped me spot good stories proposals - regardless of how well or oddly presented - understanding the elements required to make those films and having a grasp of the potential dangers involved. In post-production I am practiced at structuring programmes – film, interview and discussion and at writing documentary scripts. I am well practiced at organising production teams for maximum work flow and efficiency.
