Key Achievements –

- Principle Investigator in a government supported research project to document the native landrace crop varieties in central India through participatory methodologies that involve the communities and different sector actors.
- Been a Board Member of URGENCI – the international network of Community Supported Agriculture with its Headquarters in Aubagne, France.
- Brought about inclusive institutional structures as a member of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) Task Force on Good Governance from 2009 to 2012.
- Been a member of the consultative committee that drafted the Maharashtra state organic agriculture policy.
- Co-founded the PGS Organic Council (PGSOC) of India – network of organizations involved in the promotion of Participatory Guarantee Systems which is an alternative certification system for organic farming. Served as the President of PGSOC from its inception in 2009 till 2016.
- Together with communities and with the support of corporate organizations and other development sector actors, enabled at least 20 villages in central India to significantly improve the availability of water through appropriate water conservation and management measures.
- Introduced an innovative revolving fund mechanism that have enabled about 4000 peasant families to avail interest-free credits for establishment of homestead enterprises, better housing and sanitation, and to improve their farming in central India.
- Introduced innovative appropriate technologies – such as the pot fridge - for the rural peasants of central India to improve their living standards.
- Spearheaded resource mobilization initiatives in a grassroots NGO that resulted in a five-fold increase in grants received during a period of 4 years.
- Led a grassroots organization of central India to promote organic farming practices among at least 10000 small and marginal farmers. In recognition of this, the organization was awarded by the Governor of the state of Maharashtra.
- Established the first Information Management Unit in the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Persons of the Government of Afghanistan with the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to cater to persons with disabilities (particularly the hearing and visually impaired persons).
- Strategized the first e-Parliament project in Sri Lanka as a part of UNDP support to ICT4D in Sri Lanka.
- Worked with UNDP and sector organizations to prepare the first Information and Communications Technologies for Development (ICT4D) strategy for Indonesia.
- Established and managed Information Management Units (IMUs) in Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam during 2001-2002 to exchange information related to natural resource management in the Mekong River region while in a partnership project between GIZ and Mekong River Commission.
