Professional Experience:

Sara Brownlow, an Irish national, has worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva in various administrative capacities, the last eight of which were in HR management and administration. In January 2008, she left WHO in order to gain experience in the field and worked in Juba, South Sudan as HR/Admin Manager with TDI, a humanitarian mine action company, and as HR Officer with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Following the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, she worked with Merlin (Medical Emergency Relief International) as HR Officer and then returned to Sudan (Khartoum) and completed HR consultancies with a number of INGOs there. In 2011 Sara joined UNICEF as HR Officer Head of Section in their Bangui, Central African Republic Office and in 2013 worked with UNICEF’s Mauritania office prior to returning to Ireland in 2014 to complete her Master’s in Public Health. Since September 2014, Sara has served as HR Specialist with UNMIL Liberia and HR Manager with WHO in Liberia and Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis. She is currently HR Officer with the ITU in Geneva. Sara has a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Drugs and Alcohol: Policy & Intervention and a Master’s in Public Health. She is also fluent in French.
