I have worked as a program officer for a variety of health issues such as Malaria Eradication, Water/ Sanitation, HIV/AIDS and family planning both at community and state level in Nigeria. I also have experience in research design and implementation both in the UK and Nigeria where I am skilled at recruiting vulnerable and hard to reach populations as well as using and adapting various methodologies within different research projects. My skills also extend administration tasks within and without my field which means I am able to carry out these tasks along my given job excellently and efficiently. I have also been involved in raising awareness on the effects of Female Genital Mutilation practices in migrant communities in Scotland for over 5 years. Lastly, having obtained a Policy Communications fellowship at Population Reference Bureau, I have used these skills both academically and professionally to become an excellent communicator to various target audiences both academic and policy audiences.
I have a PhD in Global Health and Development from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and a Masters in Public Health from University of Sheffield.
Policy Communications Fellow: Population Reference Bureau Washington DC Member of “think tank” working group established by the Scottish government in order to strategize and recommend a consistent multi-agency approach towards the elimination of FGM in Scotland.
