Professional Experience:
Reported directly to the project support officer of the Forum for Security Co-operation Support Section within this international organization. Participated in research, development, and implementation of legislative support, capacity-building, and technical support projects concerning demining, demilitarization, disarmament and non-proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW), and physical security and stockpile management (PSSM) of stockpiles of conventional ammunition (SCA).
• Performed a large volume of open-source desktop research for project and program ideation, development, and management.
• Developed proficiency with OSCE and UN standards to translate research data into project documents and proposals, and prepared quarterly reports/updates for donors and participating states.
• Assisted in coordinating project development between the Forum for Security Co-operation Support Section and the Action Against Terrorism Unit.
• Researched a wide range of public sources to establish/emphasize links between terrorism and specific types of weapons, including SALW.
• Conducted research and helped to develop a proposal for a joint border security project in Ukraine, highlighting recommendations for an international exchange network.
• Created an EMI (Exchange of Military Information) database encompassing 800+ documents reflecting 15 years
of seized, confiscated, and destroyed weapons across 57 participating states.
• Utilized Microsoft Office daily administrative functions and proofread department documents as the only native English speaker.
• Prepared project updates and reports for distribution to participating states; also identified and investigated
discrepancies between project reports and OSCE EMI database records.
