Professional Experience:
“How can we turn adversity into success?” is the question I always ask myself before I develop and implement security, emergency preparedness, and risk management strategies, policies, and procedures. It’s this solutions-focused, yet advocacy-driven approach, combined with the following background that has allowed me to make the greatest impact for the organizations and people I’ve served during my extensive career in the public and private sectors and the military:

Risk & Emergency Management: Throughout my entire career, I’ve established risk and emergency management plans and procedures, specializing in hostile and precarious environments. This has included executing a 1,200-person guard force transition and change over at the US Embassy in Baghdad with zero security degradation and ensuring the safety of thousands at Esso Highlands in the most dangerous city in Papua New Guinea.

Community Outreach & Engagement: I credit my commitment to working closely and cultivating relationships within communities for my ability to make such great strides in the area of risk management, security, safety, and emergency preparedness. I work diligently to educate myself on local culture, values, norms, and rule of law to ensure the policies and programs I create are not only compliant, but honor the environment in which we’re operating.

Project Management: I’m often turned to for my fearless enthusiasm for tackling any challenge. This quality, coupled with my methodical and pragmatic nature, is particularly evident in my project management approach, where I’m able to orchestrate massive and highly sensitive tasks, and drive delivery of results. Even though I have a strong intuition rooted in my extensive background, I am also dedicated to ensuring proper collection and analysis of data, to leverage the insights that back my strategic decisions and direction.

Cross-Functional, Cross-Cultural Leadership: I’m deeply passionate about developing top talent and mentoring future leaders. My leadership style has allowed me to inspire multi-cultural, gender-diverse teams, ranging from a few people to hundreds. In every role, I make sure that I’m imparting the organizational vision in such a way that every person on my team knows exactly how their contributions affect the end results, and provide the tools and training needed to set them up for success and career advancement.
