Professional Experience:
Charles Dufresne, M.Sc., CPLP®, combines 18 years of cross-cultural experience and a passion for designing customized training and education programs, experiential workshops, planning retreats, focus groups and multi-stakeholder meetings and conferences, in the U.S., and globally, resulting in enhanced capacity, performance and collaboration of individuals, teams and organizations dedicated to creating more sustainable, thriving, resilient and peaceful societies.
He is a Partner consultant at Interworks LLC., an international consulting group providing customized training, facilitation, and other consulting services to enhance performance and collaboration of staff, teams and organizations working in disaster management, humanitarian response, sustainable development, and conflict management.
Fluent in English and Spanish, & conversant in French, Mr. Dufresne has consulted in all three languages and worked in 45 countries throughout the world for a variety of organizations including: UNDP, UNDOCO, DPKO, UNSSC, UNHCR, UNOCHA, UNESCO, ILO, IOM, LWF, CARE, Oxfam, Save the Children, Church World Service, and USAID.
As the former Director of Education at Seventhwave, he oversaw client relations with funders and led a team implementing a US $1.25 million budget to deliver continuing education, trainings, webinars, and conferences to accelerate sustainability in the built environment. Early in his career, Charles served with the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa leading a team of seven community development volunteers.
He holds a M.Sc. in Continuing & Vocational Education, from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas.
He is a Certified Professional in Learning & Performance through the Association for Talent Development (formerly ASTD), and has received the "Certified Change Manager" designation from Prosci/ADKAR.
