Currently serving as Head of Disaster Risk Management Systems (DRMS) in Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), Aslam has more than 18 years of experience in development field including 10 years of work in Disaster Risk Management in South Asia and South East. Asia.
At ADPC, he focuses on DRR institutional strengthening and capacity building at national and sub-national level. With a strong interest in water resource management, environment management and climate Change adaptation issue and its linkages with disaster risk reduction, Aslam is involved in DRR program development and implementation with strong focus on community base aspects and integration of DRR into socio economic planning process.
He has represented ADPC as Associate Member to the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) mission, ADB International DRR Specialist and currently Team Leader and DRR Specialist in Afghanistan for the GIZ.
