Strategic global leadership role with direct responsibility for India program. Developed India strategy. As country director in Actionaid Afghanistan, Led the country program, responsible for 240 staff and $8 million budget. Led development of the first Country Strategy Paper for Afghanistan and facilitated seamless restructuring of the organization to deliver new strategy. Built organizational profile, increased business volume and initiated innovative and bold actions around women’s rights, girl child education and resilient livelihood. Founder steering committee member of the European Parliamentarians Network on Women’s Rights in Afghanistan; member of the Actionaid’s global oversight team on resilience and over sight team on education. Provided transitional leadership support to Actionaid Haiti. Led country program review in Actionaid Vietnam. Facilitated country strategy initiation for Actionaid Thailand. Reported to Head of Asia Region.
As Program Manager in Actionaid Nepal, deliverable included Management of disaster resilience program funded by ECHO, AusAID and UNDP, received all round appreciation for efficient and timely delivery. Strengthened interagency coordination and coalition led policy advocacy in Nepal. Inspired People’ s Caravan on DRR, a huge people led campaign to seek strong DRR legislation that involved thousands o f community members. Worked with 8 partners and various other organizations, managed a team o f 7 people, reported to the Country Director.
As a professional expert and consultant, have facilitated over 40 training workshops on strategy, management, PME, Sphere, Advocacy and international Training of Trainers. Have conducted many international assignments on program evaluation, mission review and assessments including development and humanitarian response programs.
Wide ranging experience from grassroots advocacy and leadership to managing multi-agency networks and senior leadership role in international organizations.
