I am an individual with widespread experience in the charity sector spanning over 20 years, major part of my experience is in West Africa (mainly Nigeria). I have excellent understanding of the culture and diversity in West Africa and the impact on development, Highly practice in project design, implementation and management with excellent people management skills.
I have expertise in the development of rural and poor communities having worked extensively on infrastructural, WASH and socio-economic development of these communities including initiating and managing economic empowerment and income generating programmes at the micro household level as well as societal level.
I have extensive knowledge of reproductive health, HIV and AIDs issues and the health of women.
I am adept at advocacy, relationship building and strengthening partnership with stakeholders and experience of working at the grassroot level with community-based organizations, at the state and national level with government agencies, with the private sector, multinational agencies and the charity sector.
I have experience of conflict management, maintaining safety of self, people and property have worked in volatile areas under very challenging conditions.
I am a trainer and seasoned facilitator of workshops, trainings, seminars and meetings.
My roles over the years have been; Project design, implementation and management which includes developing concepts, proposal and managing implementation of projects from inception to completion. A major part of my experience covering about seven years has been managing a partner organization of the European Union and the coordination of rural development projects under the EU Micro-Project Programme in Nigeria.
I have about 6 years’ experience proactively working on Reproductive health with a major part on HIV and AIDS (working in a country that ranked as the 2nd country in the world with the highest prevalence). I am abundantly qualified to initiate and manage economic empowerment projects with a focus on eradicating poverty and increasing means of sustainable livelihood at micro households as well as macro societal levels.
In the last 8 years since living in the United Kingdom I have gained massive experience as a practitioner in Mental Health and worked extensively with Women facing and fleeing Domestic Abuse, also with Refugees and Asylum seekers providing advice, linkages to other support services, emotional and practical support.
