In charge of overall operational, financial and strategic management of both associations. Since 2008 managed an average annual grant of RM 1 million for capacity building (industry and civil society stakeholders), outreach, research and policy related projects and initiatives in product safety, quality and performance and WASH (water sanitation and hygiene) in Malaysia and in Southeast Asia. Chair of the ISO Committee on Consumer Policy (ISO COPOLCO) from 2014-2017 which advises ISO Council on consolidated consumers viewpoints on matters related to ISO's current and potential standardization and conformity assessment work and on the needs for new or revised policies or actions within ISO related to consumers' needs.
• Oversee matters related to users' interests and participation in National Quality Infrastructure – NQI in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
• Oversee development of promotion and awareness programmes related to importance of compliance with standards for products, services, environment and social responsibility.
• Identify needs for research or surveys in the interest societal and economic well-being.
• Identify needs for policy review and development to facilitate trade, social and environmental well-being in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

As the Secretary General of the Malaysian Water Forum: represent consumers’ (private and commercial) interest in WASH sector in Malaysia from catchment to consumers. This includes policy and technical advice to government in the area of climate change and its impact on water supply security, impact of development and pollution on the water supply and demand management and consumer education in addressing high non-revenue water and high per capita consumption of water in Malaysia. Ensure that consumer interests are represented in an uncompetitive market through proper governance and accountability among water and sanitation sector players.

Affiliations and Achievements:
(2016) Current project - Water survey (use and behaviour) among private and commercial consumers in Peninsular Malaysia and Federal Territory of Labuan – RM 200,000.00 national survey with Research Call Unit of the Universiti Sains Malaysia using Random Digit Dialing (RDD) method.

(2014) First developing country and Southeast Asian ISO member as Chair of ISO Consumer Policy Committee (ISO COPOLCO)

(2012 – completed in 2013) Tri-State Survey (Malaysia) on Consumer perception on quality of water supply services in the three southern peninsular states of Johore, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan. First such survey to assess the effectiveness of the water sector regulatory reforms in Malaysia which began in 2007. A RM 200,000 research and assessment on the impact of the new water regulatory reform on the performance of water sector.

(October 2010) - Developed what is probably the first training module on ISO 26000 – ISO 26000 Made Easy

(2009 – current) Coordination, development and publication of the first regional magazine on standards and standardization – benefitting and increasing visibility of Asian national standards bodies and their work and contribution to national and international standards work. – STANDARDS ASIA

2008 - National Water Consumption Survey. Planned, coordinated and carried out national survey on water consumption. The First such survey and has been useful to guide water conservation policies, education programmes and public outreach programmes. A RM 800,000 national water campaign which included the first national survey on water consumption pattern.

(2007 – 2011) Mobilization of efforts leading to the regulation of Toy Safety in Malaysia, ban on BPA in plastic feeding bottles, amendments to the Food Regulations 1985 – on ceramic tableware (limits to heavy metal)– benefitting over 7 million children age 14 and below.

(2007 – current) Annual capacity building workshops through the Asian Network of Consumer participation in Standardization or ANCO. Trained more than 150 participants (representing NSBs and Consumer Interest agencies and organizations) from Southeast Asia – especially on product safety and good standardization practices.

(2006) The development and publication of the first series of workbooks for children / school students on Standards and Young Consumers – amongst the first in the world on the subject matter. Acknowledged by ISO.

(2006) The development and publication of the ‘World of Standards’ - a user friendly publication for consumers interested in standards and standardization activities - – amongst the first in the world on the subject matter. Acknowledged by ISO.
