Professional Experience:
I have a balanced academic background in development management, social development, gender equality and women’s empowerment with a longstanding work experience of 28 years among which 21 spent in the UN at various positions in UNDP, UNV HQs, ILO and UNWOMEN). I possess two Master's Degree (MSc Development Management and Masters in Education Sciences) with several certificate in gender equality and women's empowerment, Results Based Management and Peace Building. Since April 2013 up to date, I serve as the Country Programme Coordinator UN WOMEN Guinea Bissau. I handle many responsibilities such as Programme Coordinator fulfilling the role of Representative and Gender Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator and the entire UN System. I coordinate different UN Joint projects in women's leadership, political participation and women's economic empowerment. Additional responsibilities are:- coordination of the Gender Thematic Group; - programme and operations management of the entire UN Women's portfolio and advocacy to the Government, the National Popular Assembly and Civil Society Organizations, especially women's networks for the implementation of the internationally agreed goals on gender equality and the SDGs. Furthermore, on my professional record, I have developed several concepts notes and project/programme document for resource mobilization at country level and regional level, especially in Rwanda (1995-2001)and West Africa (2006 - 2016). My contribution to knowledge building on gender equality and women's empowerment through research and development of results based communication tools helped to increase gender awareness in planning, law enforcement, behavior change and resource mobilization.
