Professional Experience:
Initiating Action

-Built a membership NPO bringing together 50+ commercial stakeholders, researchers and specilaists to promote and facilitate low carbon technology solutions in commercial shipping.

-Developed and delivered a ground breaking international UNFCCC conference with 100+ leading experts in sustainable shipping + 20 UNFCCC delegates, funded by the German government.

- Led field projects in sustainable building and education (Asia), small scale desalination (RMI) and volunteer initiatives in Tsunami hit areas of N.E. Japan.

-Established and managed a small international publishing company and a natural building/ sustainability centre promoting renewable energy, sustainable materials and building techniques.

Project & Budget Management

-Managed an international NPO with over 50 member organisations from around the world. Overseeing multiple work streams and projects and handling all budget requirements.

-Led multi-cultural/lingual teams (professionals & volunteers) from diverse regions/disciplines to promote sustainable shipping, natural building, UN-funded water project and disaster relief projects.

-Developed a US$1.5 million shipbuilding project involving multiple equipment suppliers, DNV/GL, Western Marine, the 2nd largest shipbuilder in Bangladesh etc.

-Coordinated multiple run publishing projects with tight budget, resource and time constraints, implementing international marketing and distribution networks servicing over 7,000 retail and library customers, boosting company revenues 45% p.a. Clients: Amazon, Borders and Barnes & Noble etc.

Consulting & Advisor

-Non-executive board member for leading intenrational renewable energy association

-Advisor on United Nations Maritime stakeholders committee & technology assessment project advisory board.

-Consultant on EU Intereg project & advisor for sutainable transport and renewable energy projects.

Research & Planning

-Contributed to numerous publications including co-producing a 60-page technical brief for the UN-affiliated International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) on renewable energy use in shipping.

-Researched applications, economic impact and supply chain of small-scale sustainable shipping on coastal areas to integrate marine and coastal development in Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Caribbean.

-Expert Reviewer of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on 1.5C Global Warming

Communication

-Built excellent relations with stakeholders in non-profit and sustainable shipping sectors and presented, moderated or chaired over 60 international conference and seminars.

-Created & delivered communications and advocacy programs with hundreds of press releases, interviews and articles published and extensive social media and website reach.
