PhD - Environment and Energy Mechanical Engineering (Korea University of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea). Worked in production and quality improvement of biocrude-oil through fast pyrolysis from forest, agricultural, urban organic waste such as sawdust, spent coffee ground, Ceylon tea waste. The sustainable use of biomass energy in producing near carbon neutral primary and secondary energy commodities was the focus driving R&D away from carbon economy to renewable and hydrogen economy in energy and transport sector. Three International Journals Published and a fourth publication under review all on forestry and organic waste biocrude-oil productions and quality improvement. Presented in 3 International Conferences. Simultaneously worked as a PhD Student Researcher in Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute.
Master of Engineering – Energy Technology (Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand). Worked in areas where I managed an Academic and Research Network called GMSARN. Thesis title was "Air Distributor System in a Circulating Fluidized Bed" that won the Master’s Thesis Competition in 2007 on Energy and Environment. Recipient of I. P. Singhania AIT Masters Thesis Award in Energy & Environment. http://www.ait.ac.th/research/annual-ait-masters-theses-competition/2006-ait-masters-theses-competition.html#.VWVioKKmqUk The work was related biomass CFB cold benchscale.
Bachelor of Engineering – Environmental Energy Engineering (University of Leeds, UK). Thesis title was "Enhancing renewable energies in Sri Lanka" focusing on wind, solar, hydro and biomass. ICLP summer placement with Dalkia Utilities Services PLC. As Undergraduate Engineer at AstraZeneca CHP Plant.
