Professional Experience: |
Currently a Visiting Professor at Center for Mountain Ecosystem Science, Kunming Institute of Botany and most recently a Senior Landscape Ecologist at the World Agroforestry Centre - East and Central Asia Region. Many years experience working in the Hindu-Kush - Himalaya / South Asia/ Southeast Asia region, East Africa, South America, and throughout Asia, including senior and management positions at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Nepal, the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Sri Lanka, and the International Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) in Kenya.
Current interests focus on the application of advanced spatial tools at global to local levels, and assessing and predicting the impacts of climate change on terrestrial ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and protected areas, and the assessment of carbon sequestration potential.
