Professional Experience: |
I started my career at TCS, world’s 10th largest IT service provider. I managed a not-for-profit club ‘ Maitree’ at TCS. The club was responsible for imparting English education to kids from low-income background. In 6 months, the club had around 400 kids who were getting this education.
In 2011, I joined Teach for India,which is working to bridge the educational inequity gap in India. I taught and managed primary grade kids for 2 years. I was also responsible for the development of the community as a whole. I took the charge for setting up the Science Laboratory and Library in school. I revamped the curriculum of all the standards of school and was responsible for the development of Teachers training program. This resulted in better performance of kids in school. I also created and managed two soccer teams in school. The teams finished runners up in the competition. More importantly, kids learnt the importance of team work and coordination. Till date, this has been my most fulfilling experience. I also took the initiative for setting up a school (ZHEP) for kids with special abilities.
In 2013, I joined Campus Diaries, a web based story telling start up. I created campaigns and held competitions in more than 50 schools and colleges in India. I was also responsible for getting investors and advertisers. I developed the marketing and sales plan for the company and was responsible for establishing 120 sales partnerships. I formed partnerships with NGOs and educational institutions to help the website take-off. As a result in 6 months, we had more than 40,000 active users.
In 2014, I joined Schulich School of Business, Toronto , Canada. I joined a start-up, Forever Natural during my MBA. The experience has been enthralling. I have helped the company grow by 400k in last 8 months. I have been responsible for the introduction of new products and the company’s social media campaign.
In Canada, I have also been associated with an NGO, Broad Reach Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to impart leadership skills to kids from various ethnicities through sailing. I managed the development of the curriculum of the foundation and has been responsible for the overall strategy of the NGO. Recently, I have been offered the board position with this foundation.
