Area of Expertise:
  • Director, CEO, COP, President
Professional Experience:
My working experience as a director in an intergovernmental institution, a diplomat, a director of operations in the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe and my training in political science and administration have given me the corporate maturity and wisdom to understand and deal with politicians, senior government principals, diplomats and the corporate stakeholders while managing both social and political sensitivities. This has ensured the success of the public health programmes and institutions I have worked for.

As Director of Operations and Institutional Development for the ECSA-HC, I reinforced a culture of good corporate governance and this contributed to the increased stakeholder confidence in the organisation and partner funding. I have also been involved in the development of resource mobilisation proposals and conducting the advocacy and networking for mobilisation of funds.

From January 2014 to August 2014, I was selected to act as the Director General and Head of Mission for the ECSA-HC and to facilitate the process of recruiting the substantive Director General by the ECSA-HC Health Ministers.

I have experience in producing strategic plans, leading planning processes and producing planning guidelines, written plans and progress reports. As a Director of Operations and Institutional Development, I facilitated the production of the ECSA-HC Strategic plan. I have prepared the ECSA-HC Management Board and Health Ministers reports since 2011 to date.

As a Consultant, I produced the DANIDA Health Sector Programme Support (5 year) Completion Report for 1999 and edited the 2002 report.

In 2009 I worked as a Program Development Consultant for the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN)

In 2010, as part of a four member team, I worked as a Corporate Governance and Management Consultant for the World Bank funded project aimed at strengthening the governance of the Zimbabwe Association of Church related hospitals (ZACH) in Zimbabwe.

In addition to providing the corporate secretary services to the ECSAHC Management Board and Ministers, I am currently a key facilitator of the ECSA-HC Leadership and Management Development programme. The programme trains and aims to develop ECSA-HC clinical and non-clinical senior staff in central hospitals and district health services leadership positions into blue-chip leaders for the health sector.
