Professional Experience: |
Gemechu has eleven years of professional experience of working in international development in the setting of donors, International NGOs and national governments. He has six years of senior level management experience, and three years of senior level governance advisory experience. He has experience of working in developing countries (Ethiopia and South Sudan). He has a significant experience in strategic policy discussions and advocacy in areas of human rights, security and justice, democratic governance, civil society, accountability and humanitarian emergency responses. He has an outstanding understanding of debates in international development, programe cycle management, monitoring and evaluation approaches and tools. Gemechu has an impressive record in undertaking needs assessment, programme design, implementation management, monitoring and evaluation of programs. He is a team player and goal-oriented person to advise on and manage complex portfolios. He is an excellent communicator with spoken and written English and German languages in addition to Afan Oromo and Amharic languages. He has an excellent skill in statistical software (SPSS), qualitative data analysis (ATLAS TI) and standard office IT (Word, Excel, Power point, internet). He is accredited in governance adviser and program management, and certified to work in fragile and conflict-affected environments.
