Affiliations and Achievements:
During a diverse and rewarding career spanning more than 32 years, I have acquired an outstanding reputation for expertise in the areas of health technology, clinical engineering, capacity building and research. I have had the opportunity to work for, and in collaboration with, leading international institutions including the WHO, SECO and GTZ, managing organizational growth, large-scale projects and complex operations with outstanding success.

Currently the Director of GE Healthcare Institute, covering the Eastern and African growth markets, I have won numerous awards, including two President Awards, in recognition of my contributions to the commercial growth of the organization in an extremely challenging environment. I spearheaded the first successful public private partnership between GE and Saudi MOH and drove this forward to become an extremely profitable organization. Furthermore, I continue to play a pivotal role in the growth of GE Healthcare into new and emerging markets.

I have been involved with the World Health Organization since 2006 in a variety of capacities, including as an invited expert for several international advisory meetings on health technology related topics and as Chairman of the international meeting for health technology classification and nomenclature systems held in Geneva.

In my role as Technical Officer of Health Technology from 2009 to 2011, I was instrumental in delivering healthcare projects in the areas of technology assessment, human development, public health and general health technology management and was continually involved in the evaluation of the latest technologies. I also developed the WHO’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) tool for health technology and participated in the development of several other WHO documents

One of my main areas of expertise is in the development of strategic partnerships and I have successfully leveraged these relationships with negotiate deals and contracts worth in excess of $800 million during my career. Working in partnership with GTZ, I was also the main counterpart for establishment of the Institute of Biomedical Technology at the Royal Medical Services requiring collaboration across Jordan and Germany. My involvement covered all phases of this project from the initial feasibility study and institutional design through to accreditation, training of trainers and financial monitoring.

Renowned as a motivational and inspirational leader, with expertise in capacity building and managing human resources, I have successfully built high performing teams that have gone on to exceed all expectations in terms of productivity and performance. I wholeheartedly embrace change and am able to overcome the most challenging situations in order to achieve organizational objectives.
