IGAD Organisation:
- Establish the first office of IGAD in South Sudan, recruit the necessary staff and be responsible of its overall management
- Coordinate and consult with Partners, Donors and others Missions on the ground, mainly for partnerships and collaboration
- Monitor closely political, economic and social developments in the country and represent IGAD in any functions or meetings
- Design programs and develop proposals for mobilizing resources. Overseeing the implementation of the activities. Prepare regular reports on office activities to the HQ and supervise the transmission of narrative reports to the Donors
- Plan and manage concerted implementation of strategies and initiatives, review and revise annual project work plans, comply with donor agreements and provide leadership and coaching to the staff for effective project management

- Work closely with government counterparts, local institutions and organizations for supporting national priority programs
- Achieved and managed effectively: IGAD Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative. Set up a Conflict Early Warning Unit and the IGAD Strategy on Women’s participation and development; Substantive trainings (on Gender Equality, Women’s Empowerment Issues, Income Generation skills, Poverty Reduction, Regional Integration strategies, Peace and Nation building efforts, etc). Support for active role of Women on Peace and Security. Provide computers and office equipments to the Center for Peace and Development Studies of the University of Juba. Establishment of the CSOs/NGOs forum for community involvement and consultation in the development of policies and strategies. Support and coordinate the 2011 referendum exercise with deployment of a high number of IGAD Observers. Contribute to the formulation of the South Sudan Development Plan, 2011-2013. Humanitarian affairs programs.Initiate and establish a joint program between the Universities of Juba and Khartoum for the creation of a consultative forum. Facilitate the Horn of Africa Initiative with projects focused on Water resources management, Agriculture, Energy, Transportation and the IGAD Initiative on Capacity Building in government institutions. IGAD’s visibility significantly increased by attending and organizing diverse events, meetings and conferences in Juba.

USAID-JSI Inc:
- Achievements: Cost control measures and efficient management of the budget of 12 M USD has resulted savings and the extension of the project duration for 15 months with more activities, i.e. water supply, rehabilitation works, trainings and BCC campaigns.
Operational challenges reduced considerably by establishing more consistent communication between operations and program leadership and implementing formal monitoring and follow-up procedures. Successfully followed up the drilling of 3 wells and the building, renovation, installation of solar power and full equipment of 23 Health Centers. Implementation of a Health Management and Information System and a large Caravan Campaign in all districts with Artists for an increased awareness on community participatory approach. Radio spots developed on various themes (pregnancy risk prevention, nutrition program, Child immunization, breast-feeding etc). Participation and contribution to the national five year Health strategy.
