Professional Experience:
Bidemi is an experienced human resource management and organizational development professional, with over two decades of diverse experience in in-house HR management and HR consulting, as well as in various contexts, covering international development, non-governmental organizations, public and private sectors.
He has not only provided leadership in the human resource and organizational development function; he also possesses extensive international experience in HR and people management best practices.
He has worked to develop, champion, and implement HR strategies within the context of organizational strategy and vision. In his current capacity as an HR Consultant at the African Development Bank, he is implementing recruitment, selection and onboarding at the highest level. He has been involved in the entire gamut of the human resources management and organizational development and he is quite experienced in and familiar with, all aspects of HR, including compensation and benefits, performance management, job evaluation and job description development, HR policy development, employee relations, as well as organizational development, including process improvement, organization design, strategic management, and change management, among others.
Over the years, he has leveraged his rich experience and valuable skills in leadership and people management to galvanize HR and project team members towards achieving results. As the pioneer Associate Director - Human Resources & Administration of AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (a PEPFAR- and Global Fund-funded NGO), he set up and managed the HR department, developing, putting place and implementing policies, systems, processes, and tools. Similarly, as the pioneer Head/Deputy Director of Human Resources at Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), he led the setting up of the HR department and oversaw the recruitment, selection and on-boarding of over 130 employees.
He has participated in, and led, the design, planning, implementation and evaluation of several HR initiatives and projects. He also possesses appreciable experience in supporting the effective achievement of organizational and business objectives, through active and close collaboration with top management and line managers on people and organizational issues. In addition, he has applied his leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills to drive unit and organizational performance, through employee engagement and people management strategies.
In his experience of heading departments and leading project teams, Bidemi has leveraged his integrity and professionalism to build trust among colleagues and team members and this has, over the years, made his coaching and mentoring efforts impactful among team members. He has a very broad world view and he keeps up with contemporary issues and current affairs, drawing lessons from the external environment to make decisions and add value to his work.
He possesses extensive experience in change management and knowledge management. He is quite familiar with ERPs and he has practical knowledge of the use of Oracle Taleo and SAP SuccessFactors. He also has the know-how to gather and analyze relevant people and HR data to inform strategic management decisions.
He has always employed stakeholder engagement and management strategies to maximally engage diverse stakeholders as well as support line managers and top management in achieving desired outcomes, even in multicultural and multilingual environments. He is self-motivated, with a passion for professionalism and best practice; and he places a very high premium on integrity in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
