Professional Experience:
I have over 4 years experience, including 3 years developing country experience working in politically sensitive posts. I have been responsible for mentoring and leading teams of local staff to produce outputs that sensitise decision makers. This includes mixed research projects on priority areas of national development, such as access to finance for recent graduates, the affects of FDI on the economy and more.

I was responsible for leading the review and evaluation of Somaliland's first national development plan, which paved the foundation for large support from development partners, and was the foundation of the development of the new 5 year development plan.

I also have a strong network of relationships across Africa and in the UK, which I continue to manage and utilise to benefit the partners and organisations I work with. Outside of my official employment, I take initiative to build understanding of community level challenges and empower leaders to start businesses that have positive externalities. I also have experience helping NGO's to conduct monitoring and evaluation and fundraising strategies.
Education:
I hold a MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford, where I was a scholar student. Through this degree, I developed robust technical skills completing modules in advanced economic theory, quantitative research methods, and applied international development modules such as international migration and structural transformation. I also wrote a dissertation titled “Export Structure and the Natural Resource Curse: An Application to Ghana”. The dissertation used econometrics to assess the channels through, which a natural resource curse can occur dependent on the category of natural resources.

In addition to the above I also hold a 1st class degree in Economics with Finance from the University of Surrey, where I was also a scholar student.
