Professional Experience:
a. Programmes Director (Botswana Red Cross Society): Responsible for overall programme planning and budgeting, implementation and monitoring of progress on implementation. Among others, the programmes include: Branch Development; Disaster Management, Response and Preparedness (including Restoring Family Links); Youth Development; Health and HIV and AIDS; Refugee Health and Psychosocial Programme; Information dissemination, Marketing, and Communication; and Community Based Rehabilitation.
This also involves defining and analyzing the Programmes Strategy and ensuring alignment with BRCS Strategy, maintaining close working relations and collaboration with government and non-government organizations in respect to work of the Red Cross, direct support and supervising teams to fulfill BRCS mandate, and ensuring compliance with resource procurement and management policies.

b. Capacity Building Advisor (Management Sciences for Health): Responsible for driving the Systems Strengthening of Health Facilities in Botswana, through the Quality Assurance and Leadership Development Project aimed at improvement on quality of service delivery and accreditation of the Health Facilities, and Organisational Development and Regional Capacity Building initiatives for partner organisations.

c. Organisational Development Advisor (Forum Syd): Responsible for coordinating and implementing capacity building initiatives for the Botswana HIV Partnership Programme (focusing on Rights based Approach).

d. Acting Executive Director (Botswana National Youth Council): Responsible for overall direction, guidance, control, coordination, and supervision of operations, planning, administration, personnel and financial management and management of assets and other resources of the Botswana National Youth Council.

e. Deputy Executive Director (Botswana National Youth Council): Responsible for the overall supervision of the Finance and Administration departments.

f. Program Manager for Research, Information Dissemination, and Networking: Responsible for Research, Information Dissemination, and Networking activities within the Youth sector, and the African Youth Alliance (AYA) which was a partnership between UNFPA, PATH and Pathfinder focusing on contributing towards improving adolescent knowledge, attitudes, values and behaviour on matters related to sexual and reproductive health issues.

g. Youth Coordinator and Counselor (Botswana Family Welfare Association): Responsible for overall project management for the Vision 2000 Project funded by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), provision of Youth Friendly Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Services in a Youth Friendly Centre and Clinic.

Other professional experience includes being a member of the National AIDS Council (NAC), Task – Force on the National Behavior Change Strategy under the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA), Board of the Botswana Council of NGOs (BOCONGO)

a. Awarded a British Chevening Scholarship to pursue a Masters Program at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom

b. Carried out a study on “Understanding Constraints to Adolescent Condom Procurement: The Case of Urban Botswana,” and a co-authored with Dr Meekers, Dominique, Prof Ghyasuddin Ahmed. The study has been published on AIDS CARE (2001). VOL.13 NO.3 pp 297-302.

c. Conducted a Research on “Perceptions of Adolescents/Youth on Current Health Services in Botswana”, and presentation during the Medical and Dental Association of Botswana’s 28th Annual Conference in October 1997.

d. Selected for the American Embassy Leadership Exchange Programme on youth focused HIV/AIDS initiatives, by the African American Institute based in Washington DC, covering programmes in Washington D.C., Atlanta, Ohio, San Francisco, and New Mexico

e. Appointed a member of Vital Voices Pan – African Leadership Program for Women and Girls, through the American Embassy, in Botswana.

f. Presented a paper on “The Buddy System”, during the 1st SADC Conference, on Community Home-Based Care, in 2001, themed ‘The Role of PLWA, NGOs and CBOs.

g. Initiated a church based programme called ‘Adopt-a-Child’ aimed at creating short-term and long-term links between underprivileged and orphaned children in the community on a voluntary basis. SOS Children’s Village was the initial beneficiary.

h. Led a delegation to the Full Group Meeting on the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN)

i. Facilitated during the SADC Regional Consultative Conference on Gender and Development, aimed at “Reflecting and Re - Strategising for Gender Based Regional Integration”

j. Founder Chairperson of the CEDA Young Farmers Fund Investment Committee.

k. Co-chairperson of the Government of Botswana/ Harvard Partnership initiated Community Advisory Board (CAB); “Maiteko a Tshireletso’’ on the conducting the HIV vaccine trials in Botswana.
