Professional Experience: |
I am passionate about human development and growth and I am fortunate that I can use my skills, knowledge and passion to create meaningful socio-economic impact on communities. My specialties include designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating programmes and projects. I establish project teams, provide programme technical and administrative support, build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, and share knowledge and learning across teams. My areas/themes of focus are democracy and local governance; institutional and individual capacity building; local economic development and women empowerment. I am highly knowledgeable in the Southern Africa region's socio-economic development context and governance systems given that I have directly implemented projects in seven countries in the region. Reflecting on my work in the development sector, I have learnt that human development and growth can be better achieved through intervening at individual, institutional, policy and legislative levels. Also, given the multidimensional nature of poverty, there is a need to integrate social, economic and environmental aspects of development when designing programmes and projects. Further, partnerships between stakeholders such as government (local and central), private sector, communities, and civil society are critical in achieving development goals. I have had the rare opportunity to implement programmes and projects targeting individuals, institutions, policies and legislation as well as working with regional bodies such as the Southern Africa Development Community(SADC) Notable achievements include creating meaningful impact as defined by project beneficiaries, stakeholders and development partners. Policy and legislative changes, institutional strengthening and enhanced skills, knowledge, attitudes and confidence among targeted individuals are some of the results that have been achieved. Above all, I have built and nurtured meaningful relationships ensuring a win-win situation with various stakeholders including senior government officials, development partners, private sector representatives, civil society and communities.
