I have been with FHI 360 (formally Family Health International) for over 15 years. I started in Washington, DC in the Contracts and Grants Department where I oversaw the review of all sub-awards granted for their HIV Prevention and Care Project (IMPACT). After three years performing those duties I transferred to the Bangkok, Thailand office as the Contracts and Grants Manager for the Asia and Pacific Region were I managed the review and provided approval of all sub-awards valued up to $750,000. I also managed the administrative and IT staff of the Department. During that time period FHI 360 decided to expand their Product Quality and Compliance Department by opening a medical device testing laboratory in Bangkok. I was instrumental in managing this process including the search for the building, lease negotiation, construction, and opening of the laboratory. Upon successful completion of the Bangkok Laboratory I transferred to Durham, NC to become the Associate Director of the Product Quality and Compliance Department managing that Department’s budgets and finances. Additional duties were assigned to me including the management of the medical device testing laboratory in the USA. In 2014 I assisted in the writing of a proposal for USAID’s Global Health Supply Chain – Quality Assurance contract that FHI 360’s Product Quality and Compliance Department was successful in winning. I have since expanded my responsibilities to manage all testing services of the Department in both the USA and in Thailand. I routinely provide trainings, in conjunction with UNFPA, to National Regulatory and Testing laboratories in the testing of medical devices and Laboratory Accreditation. I am also an active participant of ASTM D11 and ISO TC 157 in the writing and editing of international standards for testing of medical devices. I routinely work with USAID, UNFPA, WHO, officials from National testing laboratories from around the world, as well as major manufacturers of medical devices.
