Professional Experience: |
I am currently an Australian Government employee deployed to Papua New Guinea as an adviser within a law and justice agency. My role involves working to strengthen the provision of legal services to the State of PNG by the Office of Solicitor General. I mentor and coach the Solicitor General and senior management in the conduct of a professional, ethical and efficient law practice. I support and drive improved practice management and efforts to strengthen organisational culture, particularly in relation to corruption related issues. I also work daily with individual lawyers to improve their professional and legal skills and regularly appear as the State’s advocate in litigated civil and commercial claims before the PNG Courts.
While I have a technical legal background, I also work in the areas of organizational change and development with significant project management experience. I completed an MBA in 2014.
I have previously worked as the principal in-house legal counsel for an international organisation in Fiji and before that, for the Samoan Government as General Counsel within the Attorney General’s Office.
I also have private sector experience having worked as a solicitor for a commercial law firm in Perth, Western Australia.
