Professional Experience:
A sustainable development oriented researcher and practitioner with over ten years’ experience covering the design and implementation of community water engineering and management projects as well as researching on sustainable water resources management, green energy technologies and integrated solid waste management incorporating integrated strategies on waste reduction, recycle and reuse. Have applied socio-economic and technical feasibility assessment together with sustainability life cycle assessment to assess the social acceptance, economic and technical feasibility and environmental sustainability of processes.
Education:
I am a holder of PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa whose thesis was on comparative assessment of integrated waste management options in Harare. The study applied the life cycle assessment methodology to quantify the environmental and human health impacts of probable integrated municipal solid waste management options that could be considered for possible future implementation in Harare, the Capital City of Zimbabwe. The study sought to determine the least environmental and human health impactful option amongst the assessed options. I also hold a master of science in Integrated Water Resources Management from the University of Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Engineering Honors in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. I am a recipient of the Life Cycle Award from the Life Cycle Initiative in partnership with UN Environment Programme, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and PRé Sustainability. My life cycle award report on life cycle assessment of municipal solid waste management scenarios that could be implemented in Harare topped amongst the 8 outstanding reports from the 44 awards that were awarded globally. This subsequently resulted in my award with a Certificate of Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment or Life Cycle Excellence Award from the World Resources Forum and UNEP. I have authored and contributed to over 20 publications in the form of journal articles in high impact peer reviewed journals, full peer reviewed conference papers, two book chapters, two policy briefs and two position papers. I am a recipient of the National Geographic Society early career grant. I am also a recipient of the Southern African Development Community Waternet fellowship. I am also familiar with the use of the Usetox global consensus model for human toxicity and ecotoxicity.

Technical advisor for green technologies under the inclusive poultry value chain project, Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Livestock and Meat Advisory Council (LMAC), Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA), Sustainable Agricultural Technology (SAT), Cooperation for the Development in Emerging Countries (COSPE), with funding support from the European Union, August 2021 – March 2022
ii. Lead consultant for over 45 borehole capacity tests in Buhera, Zaka, Chiredzi, Masvingo, Chikomba and Chivi districts, Chisipite Borehole Drilling and UNDP, January to February 2022
iii. Expert consultant for full raw materials and plastic waste value chain analysis, Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) and Kudiwa Waste to Energy Solutions (KWES), February 2022

Working on projects that seek to bring holistic and integrated solutions to numerous climate change induced sustainable development challenges facing communities and the water industry.

Key projects to date
1. Supervised the installation of water supply systems in Gokwe, Umguza, Insiza, Gweru, Harare, Chitungwiza and Mt Darwin for Welthunderhilfe (WHH)) in Zimbabwe, 2021
2. Supervised the installation of water supply systems in Shurugwi, Zhombe, Gokwe, Gweru, Insiza, Chegutu, Mhondoro, Chitungwiza, Shamva for Welthunderhilfe (WHH)) in Zimbabwe, 2020
3. Supervised the installation of water supply systems in Gokwe, Buhera, Bikita for Methodist Development and Relief Agency (MeDRA) in Zimbabwe, 2020
4. Supervised 29 borehole capacity tests for Welthungerhilfe (WHH)) in Zimbabwe, 2020
5. Supervised the installation of solar powered water abstraction and gravity conveyance systems in Gokwe, Zhombe, Shurugwi, Shamva, Chitungwiza for Welthungerhilfe (WHH)) in Zimbabwe, 2020
6. Led technical and economic feasibility assessments for piped water schemes and feedlots rehabilitation including the development of the designs and coming up with corresponding Bills of Quantities for solar powered the piped water supply systems in Chiredzi and Chipinge districts for an International Rescue Committee project funded by OFDA whose results and report were highly commented by IRC and OFDA, November 2018.
7. Led technical feasibility assessment of 10 piped water supply systems for the International Rescue Committee as well as coming up with systems designs and corresponding BOQs in Beitbridge, November 2019.

8. Led technical and feasibility assessment including production of designs and corresponding BOQs for 15 solar piped water schemes, six irrigation schemes, five dams and six weir dams in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe, Gokwe south and north districts for CAFOD in partnership with CARITAS and UK Aid, February to April 2019.
9. Supervised the successful installation of a solar piped water supply system in Umzingwane for Welthungerhilfe (WHH)) in partnership with UNDP, May 2018.
